Muji MJ-RC3A3

Muji MJ-RC3A3

A physical user interface exploration in which I reimagined the Muji MJ-RC3A3 rice cooker design through three progressive iterations. Each version refines the product’s tactile controls, material language, inclusivity, and functional range.

The project examines how physical interaction, accessibility, and material decisions can elevate a minimal consumer electronic from usable to intuitive.

Muji’s MJ-RC3A3 is a compact, 3-cup electric rice cooker designed around their philosophy of simplicity, clarity, and essential functionality. Its minimal form and neutral material palette reflect a focus on everyday usability, offering core cooking modes and intuitive operation within a reduced interface.
